SUMMARY:Community Talks — the City Listens: Creating Community Cohesion
DESCRIPTION:We want to hear from you\, Raleigh\, about your experience building new friendships in the city. Participants will receive a $25 gift card. \nJoin us at A Place at the Table for a one-hour activity with the City of Raleigh staff. Raleigh City employees are coming together from across departments to learn and practice public innovation to solve real challenges facing the city. The focus of this project is about building community cohesion. \nWe want to hear from you\, Raleigh residents\, about your experience building new friendships through the activities in your community. \nHow does it work? \nArrive at 9 a.m. and get paired up with a Raleigh employee. They will ask you questions about your experience meeting new people. There is nothing you need to prepare\, just an openness to share your experiences. As a thank you for your time\, we will provide you with a $25 gift card. \nWho can attend? \nOur focus is learning how people create a sense of belonging and connection within Raleigh. We’d like to talk to anyone who will share their stories about how they are expanding their social circle. \nWhat else should I know? \nAll participants need to arrive at 9am and stay until 10am in order to receive a gift card. We will also provide coffee and pastries from A Place at the Table. \nParking \nThere is paid street parking and a paid gravel parking lot across the street from the cafe. There are also five free two-hour parking decks in Downtown Raleigh. The Municipal Lot is closest to the restaurant. \nSpots are limited to the first 20 people to sign up! If you can no longer make it\, send us an email at gabriela.scarritt@raleighnc.gov and we will open that spot up for someone else. Thanks!
