Thanks! \nSee you in two weeks\, \nMike Lindsay\nChair of the Hillsborough-Wade CAC \nPhone:919-828-0619\nMobile: 919-429-0177\ninform@nc.rr.com \n \nDetails about the West Morgan Neighborhood Association from Carol Gabor:\nThe West Morgan Neighborhood Association has recently been reregistered.  The City just sent out a mailing for us\, and people are beginning to register.  We fall under the umbrella of the Hillsborough Wade CAC\, so I think we need to keep you apprised of our aims and activities.  The most important thing to keep in mind about this neighborhood is that it is a majority rental neighborhood and of that majority\, over 50% would qualify as “affordable” housing.  So for that reason\, we have a huge interest in keeping our neighbors informed about potential zoning and other changes that could adversely affect the economic diversity of our area.  We aren’t against increased density\, but we are definitely fighting thoughtless zoning approvals that will prematurely force existing renters out of their homes before creative ways to allow them to stay in the neighborhood are discussed. \nWe are also planning a celebration of the Boylan Bridge as a public gathering place to view the Raleigh skyline and to memorialize weddings\, graduations and other important life events.  The tentative date is November 5\, 2023.  We have applied for community event funding in partnership with the Boylan Heights Neighborhood Association and are awaiting approval. SUMMARY:Midtown CAC Hybrid meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Midtown CAC meeting on July 24 will follow the hybrid format that we have been using for the past few months. The in person meeting will continue to be at Eastgate Park community center and the virtual presentation will utilize a Zoom link.\n\nIn addition to our normal update on community safety and Council updates\, we will hear a presentation for a proposed town house development on Dartmouth Road\, which currently contains two single homes zoned as R-4. The development will utilize the process of Missing Middle\, which is a first for this area of Midtown and the Farrior Hills neighborhood. I encourage all interested residents to attend.\n\nAppended is the agenda for the meeting and the combined minutes / presentations for the previous June MCAC meeting. Please review the minutes before the July meeting. DESCRIPTION:Informed + Engaged = Empowered. \nOn February 7\, City Council voted to allow Citizen Advisory Councils (CAC) access to five community centers for an interim period beginning March 1\, 2023.The following was identified as the community center for District C to use as a meeting site. \nDistrict C \nRoberts Neighborhood Center \nSoutheast CAC will host a District C- Citizen Advisory Council Comeback in person meeting. \nWhen Thursday May 4\, 2023 \nTime: 7:00 PM\, \nLocation: Roberts Neighborhood Center. \n                1300 E. Martin St.\nRaleigh NC\, 27610 \nThe purpose of this meeting will be to allow the eight CACs that are part of District C to inform Raleigh District C residents of their status andsign-up individuals interested in participating in a District C- CAC.
