DESCRIPTION:Learn about the Triangle’s historic grasslands and help install a mini Piedmont Prairie at Durant Nature Preserve. The new grasslands will surround Nature Preserves Artist-in-Residence Scott Hazard’s sculpture\, which creates habitat for chimney swifts. Starting at 1 p.m.\, Justin Robinson and Tara Mei Smith from Extra Terrestrial Projects will share insights on grassland ecology and guide participants in planting cool-season species that will bloom in spring. \nJoin this hands-on event to support biodiversity\, explore public art\, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of this 237-acre nature preserve. \nRegister for the workshop.
