These issues arise due to a variety of reasons including recent text changes\, application of the code to unique situations\, and unclear/imprecise language. To ensure continuous improvement of the city’s land development regulations\, staff utilizes the omnibus text change program to bundle these corrections and improvements into a single ordinance. Items included in the omnibus are modest in their impact and address minor\, rather than major\, policy areas.\n.\nOn October 21\, 2026\, the Planning Commission Text Change Committee discussed this item and reported it out with no recommendation.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nD.2\n\nText Change TC-6-26: Custom Signage Plan Amendments\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJustin Bucher\, Planning and Development\n\n\n.\n\n\nThis is an external text change that proposes amendments to UDO Section 10.2.21.G\, which establishes additional limitations for Custom Signage Plans. The proposal would increase the maximum number of lines of copy allowed on certain ground and tract identification signs from 5 to 10 lines and increase the maximum sign area from 100 square feet to 300 square feet.\n\n\nThe proposed changes are intended to provide additional flexibility for identification and directional signage within developments that qualify for a Custom Signage Plan.\n\n\nOn October 21\, 2026\, the Planning Commission Text Change Committee discussed this item and reported it out with no recommendation.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nE.\n\nOther Business\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nE.1\n\nReport of the Chair\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nE.2\n\nReport of the Members\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nE.3\n\nReport of the Assistant Director\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nE.3.a\n\nReport of the Assistant Director\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReceive as information.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nF.\n\nAdjournment\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Commission typically meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 9 a.m. The meetings are held at the Raleigh Municipal Building (RMB)\, located at 222 West Hargett Street. SUMMARY:Central CAC Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Hi everyone.  The next meeting of the Central CAC will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday\, October 27 at the Tarboro Road Community Center.\n\n\nIn this meeting we’ll hear from candidates for the Raleigh city council’s District D seat.  Incumbent Jane Harrison and challenger Jevon Smith will each speak about their campaign and take questions from the audience.\n\nWe’ll also see a presentation by designers from SfL+a Architects on The Oakline\, a proposed elevated pedestrian connector from downtown to Dix Park.  This is a chance for us to have a look at the proposed project and give early feedback directly to SfL+a and our District D city councilor.\n\nIn this meeting we’ll also take a few minutes to discuss future meeting topics\, including a forum on public safety and presentations on housing\, with emphasis on how we can help keep current residents in their homes.  We’ll additionally talk about establishment of committees to manage special CAC projects.  Please come out and give your input on these issues.\n\nI’m attaching a flier announcing the meeting.  Please feel free to print and distribute copies of the flier in your neighborhoods.  And of course tell a friend or neighbor when you see them!\n\nSee you all on the 27th.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrian\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n_______________________\nBrian Rineer\nChair – Central CAC\nchair@central.raleighcac.org\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRaleigh CAC Meeting Invite – 27OCT2026_Final
