SUMMARY:Clean Energy and Renewable Propane Ribbon Cutting
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, Sept. 28\, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. as we celebrate a significant milestone in the City of Raleigh’s Community Climate Action Plan. \nWe are excited to announce that the City of Raleigh is moving a portion of its fleet to run on renewable propane. Nearly half of the City’s total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions come from transportation\, and reducing vehicle emissions is a critical part of our climate action strategy. Raleigh is mapping out a “clean transportation” future that involves transitioning from fossil fuels to cleaner alternatives like electric vehicles and renewable propane. \nWe invite you to celebrate this significant step in achieving the City’s Community Climate Action Plan. We are holding a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday\, Sept. 28\, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.\, at the Westinghouse Road fueling station at 2540 Westinghouse Blvd. Parking is available onsite. \nThis event is an excellent opportunity for the public to see some of the vehicles that use renewable propane and to check out some of the other electric and clean energy vehicles in our fleet. \nVehicle Fleet Services\, the Office of Sustainability\, and Raleigh Arts also recently unveiled a “Clean Energy Mural” to raise awareness about our clean energy transition. This mural will be highlighted at the event\, and the artist will attend to share information about his work. It is also worth noting that Vehicle Fleet Services was recently awarded the 2023 #1 fleet in the nation for its innovative approach to climate action and clean energy. \nThe Propane Education & Research Council\, Blossman Gas & Appliance\, Southeast Propane Alliance (SEPA)\, and Triangle Clean Cities are also sponsoring the celebration. \nThe Triangle Clean Cities meeting will take place immediately following the ribbon-cutting ceremony. \nFor more information:\n\nRaleigh’s Community Climate Action Plan\nClean Energy and Transportation Mural \nVehicle Fleet Services named the #1 Fleet in the nation
